The purpose of the Bilingual Committee is to ensure that interpretation from Spanish to English or English to Spanish is available throughout Area 46, in order to carry the message of AA to anyone anywhere.
What we do
Encourage Spanish Speaking DCM, GSR, Committee chairs and members to attend Area 46 Assemblies and workshops.
Encourage translation and equipment to be used as needed, at any District, group or Committee for workshops and any other AA function.
Provide and arrange the translation equipment and members to translate at Area 46 Assemblies.
Recruit members for translating team.
Motivate Spanish speaking members with the Spirit of Service within the AA Service Manual and Area 46 Information Pamphlet.
Attend Area 46 Annual Convention to coordinate and supervise the English to Spanish and Spanish to English translation, and that Spanish speaking alcoholics can fully participate at the Convention.
How We Accomplish Our Purpose
Participate in monthly business meetings for Lingustic Districts (D17 & D19) and keep them informed of Area 46 current issues.
Participate as much as possible around Area 46 Districts and Committees.
Have a Monthly Committee meeting the Second Tuesday of the month.
Visit other groups and motivating members new in service.
Practice the Spirit of Service with others around Area 46.
