Hello Area 46, it was great to see everyone at the Assembly in Truth or Consequences and online! I think the Assembly went very well, and we reacted quickly to a last-minute change in our Main Room due to circumstances out of our control. Sure does help with the practice of letting go and letting God! I’m grateful to the District 4 Host Committee and the local on-site point of contact for the high school who all went above and beyond to help us get into a completely different room – the music room! – that ended up working out very well for us. This was a great assembly to be a part of, thanks everyone for your help and service!
We do apologize for some technical difficulties that made it harder to get out the Zoom survey for feedback after the assembly (this was delayed by almost five days), along with some challenges in getting Zoom link information disseminated earlier before the Assembly. We are learning and will make adjustments for the December Assembly in Portales. So far, the venue at Eastern NM University looks like it’ll be great for us.
As for what we’re up to on our committee, we have been training up new folks who are already making a huge difference in the success of our assemblies. You are all making it very enjoyable to be working in a busy committee like ours, helping our Area 46 do its wonderful service work! We have Jill G, Mimi D., and Rebecca Q. who are now making a big difference in our online support. We have a crew of seasoned pros helping with the in-person setup and take down of all the equipment as well as running the complexities of live audio and online audio, video presentation and participation coordination, and online registration helpers and guides. We are looking to add “shadows” who are willing to learn the jobs of the Online Advocate to help our tireless Ray R. and Audio Specialist to help the tireless Ramon M. with their work!
Teaser: I am also looking to debut / test out a new dynamic microphone for the participants (those speaking from the audience of main room) that might work better for us. We will test out this model that I have in mind at the December Assembly, and if we like it we can perhaps purchase our own.
